Property operating costs (as a percentage of gross income) stabilised in 2024, reversing the recent upward trend and offering landlords slight relief according to SAPOA’s Operating Cost Report for FY2024.

By yearend, the gross cost-to-income ratio declined by 20 basis points to 42.8%, following a modest 0.6% increase in total operating costs and closely matched by a 0.5% rise in gross income.
