UWC hosts executive networking function to highlight its multi-campus expansion strategy

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) recently brought together industry leaders, alumni, and strategic partners for an executive networking function at its newly launched Brewdubs Coffee Shop – its second on-campus café.

UWC shared highlights of its multi-campus strategy with some developments showcased including the University Innovation Hub located at 405 Voortrekker Road in Parow; the hotel and conference facility at the former Konica Minolta building (4 Mike Pienaar Boulevard); student accommodation at the former Absa building (32 Voortrekker Road, Bellville), an interprofessional clinic at the former Pick n Pay (Bella Vista, Cross Street), and a community and health sciences building expansion at vacant retail sites in Blanckenberg Street in Bellville.

Keynote speakers included UWC Rector and Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Balfour, UWC Executive Director: Finance and Services, Manie Regal and SAPOA Western Cape Chairperson, Kevin Roman whom all spoke passionately about UWC’s strategic direction, deepening partnerships, and the role of universities in reimagining SA’s urban and educational landscapes.

The evening concluded with a celebratory dinner and prize-giving ceremony acknowledging those who continue to make UWC’s growth possible with special appreciation extended to UWC’s Business Development Office, its Department of Infrastructure and Engineering, the Department of Risk and Compliance, the University Innovation Hub, and Institutional Advancement. Design partners, Pure Design and Vukani, were praised for their branding and signage, with gratitude paid to the event’s sponsors Motsamayi Tourism Group, Watchprop, Food and Connect, and UWC’s Business Development Office.
