Melrose Arch supports the Women’s Property Network

In support of the Women’s Property Network in their mission to empower women within the commercial real estate sector, Amdec’s Melrose Arch has announced that it will host the WPN’s Leadership Conference on the 8th of May 2024.

The organisation’s recent State of Gender Transformation Report reveals that the average female representation at an executive level in South Africa’s real estate industry is 15% with only 25% of positions at non-executive levels being held by women. Thirteen of 24 REITs had 100% male executive directors and 15 have less than 30% female non-executive directors.

2024’s leadership conference is a flagship event for the WPN. Its objective is to empower, influence, connect, and to inspire female property professionals, aligning with the theme ‘Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment’ as announced by the United Nations as the theme for this year’s Women’s Day.

MC’d and moderated by Mix FM presenter, Lauri-Leah Momberg, the conference will feature guest speakers Natalie Maroun, Managing Director at The Performance Agency, and Deshun Deysel, Founder and CEO of Go Peak International. The morning of the conference will also feature a panel discussion.

Women empowerment isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s the smart thing to do. When we invest in women and their ability to lead, we unlock the full potential of our economies and create a more just and prosperous world for all,” comments Thuli Mpuntshe, WPN National Chairperson.

Established in 2000, the Women’s Property Network is dedicated to empowering and advancing the economic participation of women within the commercial property industry. Through strategic networking, education, and advocacy initiatives, WPN strives to create opportunities for women to thrive and succeed within the sector.

At Melrose Arch, we recognize the importance of fostering diversity and inclusivity within the property sector. By partnering with the Women’s Property Network, we aim to contribute to the advancement of women in the industry and promote a more equitable and prosperous future for all,” said Khanyi Moyo, Marketing Manager of Melrose Arch.
